What's a bargain? Product reviews coming soon!
Be on the lookout for product reviews coming soon to "Hello, Good Buy". With the trend of going green, more things are becoming available in reusable form. For example, sandwich bags- fabric vs. traditional plastic. Is it more economical to use a fabric bag, or is it cheaper to use plastic? Look for results, and a full product review coming soon!

Swagbucks- Earn Free Giftcards, Cash and more
I know a few of you have signed up for Swagbucks already, at my recommendation. I signed up several years ago, and have cashed in my Swagbucks for Amazon gift cards, and used them to pay for part of Christmas gifts each year! The site offers many other giftcards, in a variety of denominations, but the $5 Amazon gc is the best value.
The easiest way to earn Swagbucks (which you can then cash in for gift cards, PayPal payments, etc.) is to use their search engine. They also post Swagcodes, and you can partake in the daily polls, surveys and other more involved activities to earn points.
You can sign up for Swagbucks here.

Changes to "Amazon Mom". . . Not such a good deal anymore
As a mom to two in diapers (making headway on potty training. . . . let's go!) I am always on the lookout for a good deal on diapers. For the last year, I've purchased Pampers through Amazon Mom's "Subscribe and Save" program. Each order automatically ships once a month, and they take 30% off the current price. Shipping was free, and no tax. BEST price around, even compared to Costco and Diapers.com.
Unfortunately, Amazon has decided that their deal was a little too sweet. Notification was sent out to all Amazon Mom participants stating that unless we pony up the $79/year for an Amazon Prime membership, our discount beginning Jan. 24th will be a whopping 5%. If you do decide to pay for the Prime membership, you receive other perks besides an additional 20% discount on your Subscribe and Save items- the free 2-day shipping with no minimum purchase amount, and streaming videos, to name a few. But, for those of us who are on a family member's Prime account, we get the 2-day shipping for free, but not the additional discount. The frustrating part for me was that it appears that Amazon has frozen the option to "ship an additional shipment" since I must not have been the only one that tried to go in and stock up prior to the change in discount. Boooo Amazon. If you're going to change something with a start date later this month, at least have the decency to allow us to enjoy the current benefits until that date.
The point of this all is that Amazon is no longer frontrunner in the world of diaper prices. I know there are other bargain blogs that have done extensive calculations, but I ran a few. I looked at Pampers only, and found that when assuming you are not using any coupons, just buying at purchase price, Diapers.com is now cheapest. However, you do have to meet the $49 threshold to get free shipping with them, which means buying quite a few diapers at once, or adding on a filler item each time to get to the free shipping point. Worth it? Depends on if there's another item you need from them. Their two-day shipping and customer service is stellar. You can mail in manufacturer coupons to Diapers.com, you just have to plan ahead and allow for processing time.
Target also does sales fairly frequently which gives a gift card when buying several boxes at a time. You can combine those deals with manufacturer coupons.
